Notes:
I wanted a challenge!
Actually, that's not quite true. This was meant to be a ripple crochet afghan, but I was on the 30 year plan.
(Not that much of an exaggeration: in 2 years I'd done 8 rows of a 120 row blanket.)
Eventually, I wised up. I asked the intended recipient if she really wanted a ripple crochet blanket,
and (thank goodness!), she said that it needn't be ripple crochet.
So I ripped out what I had done and began making squares.
Two problems. Actually, one problem (age of materials), in two variations.
1. The variegated yarn was no longer being made. So that meant large squares. Fine.
2. I didn't have enough blue, green, and rose. And even though the label claims that there are no dye lots,
colors can change over the years.
So I went searching, and found a beige that would work well with the other colors.
I still liked the idea of ripple crochet, and wanted to simulate it with squares. Hence my zigzaggy design.
And instead of creating scarves and joining the scarves, I assembled the blanket row by row, in a zigzag fashion.
This was fun. And definitely better than having it be a work-in-progress for the next 28 years.
