I made this one twice. The first blanket was done at the request of a friend who was involved in a silent auction. I wanted the blanket to be related to the group being supported, and since the group played (among other things) medieval music, that gave me the theme.
I wanted to make it look something like a musical staff, and something like an illuminated parchment. This is the result.
Oh... And the friend who encouraged me to donate the blanket? Ended up being the high bidder for it. And her husband promptly claimed the blanket as his. Which is all very well and good, except she really wanted that blanket. So in 2008, I made a mirror image version for her.
