Hands and Cogwheel Dishcloth

Related pattern

hands and cog dishcloth

I see a cog, but I also see a fire, and two people warming their hands around it.

This is meant to make a standard 9" dishcloth when made in worsted-weight cotton (like Sugar'n Cream) at a gauge of 5 st/in. (Use whatever size needle will work. The ball band recommends a US7/4.5mm, but I do better with a smaller needle. Swatch and see.)

Some warnings:

  • The graph is for the central pattern only. Cast on 45 stitches, knit 5 rows, then start the graph.
  • The graph does not include the garter border. Please be sure to knit the first and last 5 stitches of each row. (Stitch markers to indicate the border may help.)
  • The pattern is worked on the right side only. Wrong side rows are purled.
